TIMPANOGOS CAVE ROCK WALL & ROCK TRAP

Complex Design-Build project for NPS included the removal of existing temporary fencing and the design and installation of new guide trails, and repair of the rock trap. The first scope of work – the guide walls – consists of the installation of natural rock walls, rock posts and/or steel pole and wire chain rails along various portions of the 1.5 mile trail leading up to the cave. The second scope – the rock trap – consists of repairing three steel doors that are used to hold and release debris from the trap, and replacement of chain link fence and rock trap curtain to divert and guide debris to the rock trap doors.

JEWEL CAVE REPAIR PARKING LOT AND DRAINAGE SYSTEM

Construction of a new parking lot and innovative drainage system to mitigate seepage from the lot into the Cave. Work included removal and replacement of the existing parking lot, construction of a storm water collection system, construction of a storm water treatment system, removal & replacement of handicap accessible ramps from the parking lot to the visitor center, replacement of the ticket sales kiosk and rehabilitation of the existing storm water discharge channel.
