Alex McDonald serves as Director of Preconstruction at Sky Blue Builders, bringing experience across estimating, project management, healthcare, and different types of project delivery. With a background spanning municipal, higher education, healthcare, and federal work, Alex has managed projects from early budgeting and bid generation through buyout, on-site coordination, closeout, and warranty execution.
Prior to joining Sky Blue Builders, Alex worked at Saunders Construction, where he advanced from Project Engineer to Project Manager/Estimator while supporting a wide range of healthcare projects throughout Colorado and Montana. His experience includes client relationship management, financial forecasting, contract execution, design collaboration, and coordination across multidisciplinary teams in active environments.
Alex has contributed to projects including the Thornton Trail Winds Recreation Center, University of Denver Community Commons, MILO Luxury Residences, and numerous healthcare renovations and specialty projects for St. Anthony Hospital campuses and other regional healthcare providers. At Sky Blue Builders, Alex helps lead preconstruction strategy, estimating, and client collaboration efforts in support of mission-critical projects across Denver.
