The Baca National Wildlife Refuge Visitors Center is a 3,300-square-foot, ground-up visitor and education facility constructed for the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service in Crestone, Colorado. Delivered through a design-build approach, the project commemorates the opening of the Baca National Wildlife Refuge to the public and provides interpretive and educational space set against the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.

Sky Blue Builders performed comprehensive site investigations and managed construction in a remote location, delivering the building and supporting site infrastructure on time and within budget while preserving and restoring the surrounding natural habitat through careful phasing, sustainable construction practices, and collaboration with the owner and architect.
