These concession projects required accelerated schedules, extensive MEP coordination, and close collaboration with airport stakeholders to meet DEN’s operational standards within fully active terminal environments.
Notable projects include the Modern Market concession on Concourse B and Peak Newsstand locations on Concourses A and C. Each build-out involved significant infrastructure upgrades delivered within compressed timelines—often as short as 90 days—inside fully operational terminal spaces with constant passenger traffic.
The Modern Market project required a full retrofit of an existing food service space located in the center core of Concourse B. Work included new HVAC, electrical, and fire protection systems, integration of kitchen equipment and captive air systems, and coordination of new grease infrastructure routed through multiple levels of the facility. Unforeseen existing conditions and incomplete as-built documentation required proactive field coordination and real-time problem-solving to maintain schedule.
Across all concession projects, Sky Blue Builders carefully sequenced work to minimize disruption, performing higher-impact activities during off-hours and coordinating inspections, deliveries, and access within secure areas. This experience reinforced Sky Blue Builders’ comprehensive understanding of DEN’s procedures and positioned the firm as a trusted partner for delivering fast-paced concession spaces within a live aviation environment.
