Sky Blue Builders supported multiple scopes within the Great Hall renovation program at Denver International Airport, beginning with Phase 1 interim construction and extending into subsequent enabling and infrastructure packages. The Great Hall renovation is a large, multi-year transformation of DEN’s main terminal, requiring precise coordination, continuous stakeholder engagement, and strict adherence to safety and security protocols within an active, 24/7 facility.
During Phase 1, Sky Blue Builders served as prime contractor for interim Great Hall construction, and assumed control of the preconstruction and early construction activities across mechanical, electrical, and structural scopes. Work was performed in heavily trafficked public areas and required extensive logistics planning, workforce coordination, and real-time schedule management to maintain pedestrian flow, safety, and operational continuity.
As the program advanced, Sky Blue Builders also supported escalator installations and airline enabling projects, including the build-out and relocation of Baggage Service Offices (BSO) critical to maintaining United Airlines and Southwest Airlines operations during subsequent renovation phases. These efforts required careful phasing, day and night work, and close coordination with DEN, airline partners, and adjacent work packages to minimize disruption.
Across all Great Hall scopes, Sky Blue Builders demonstrated deep expertise in executing complex construction within an active aviation environment—balancing safety, schedule, and stakeholder needs while supporting the broader transformation of DEN’s main terminal.
