The Metro State Coffee Pavilion is a 1,200-square-foot, freestanding LEED Gold facility constructed on the Auraria Campus for Metropolitan State College of Denver and its tenant, Dazbog Coffee. Delivered through a design-assist approach, the project features a distinctive trapezoidal form with steel framing, expansive storefront glazing, and a sleek architectural facade. Sky Blue Builders collaborated closely with the owner, architect, and end user to advance the design from 30% completion, providing value engineering that reduced costs while achieving LEED Gold standards through energy-efficient HVAC systems, sustainable materials, and innovative solutions such as a concealed mechanical well to preserve the building’s clean exterior aesthetic.
