As part of a multi-year Job Order Contract (JOC) with the Mental Health Center of Denver (MHCD), Sky Blue Builders has completed more than 25 task orders supporting tenant renovations, minor repairs, and ongoing facility maintenance across MHCD’s portfolio. Work under the contract has been performed concurrently across 23 properties throughout the Denver metro area, with scopes ranging from office renovations and building system upgrades to tenant kitchen, bathroom, and HVAC improvements.

The JOC framework provides MHCD with a responsive, flexible construction partner capable of executing work efficiently within occupied, operational healthcare environments. One representative task order involved a minor interior remodel of an approximately 1,700-square-foot office suite, including the construction of additional private offices and a conference room, along with coordinated upgrades to finishes, HVAC, electrical systems, and fire suppression. Similar scopes have been delivered throughout MHCD facilities as part of the broader contract.

Much of the work performed under the JOC takes place in fully occupied facilities with active patient and administrative traffic. To minimize disruption to daily operations and protect client privacy, Sky Blue Builders frequently performs work after hours and develops detailed phasing plans in close coordination with MHCD stakeholders and design partners. Three-week look-ahead schedules are used to define upcoming activities, maintain safe circulation paths, and ensure continuity of services.

As one of MHCD’s initial JOC partners, Sky Blue Builders also supported the establishment of administrative, scheduling, and logistics protocols for ongoing task order delivery, including communication plans, invoicing workflows, badging requirements, and coordination procedures across multiple concurrent projects. Regular OAC meetings and consistent reporting structures help maintain alignment on safety, quality, and schedule while providing MHCD with a scalable model for managing its broader portfolio of improvement work.
