Complex Design-Build project for NPS included the removal of existing temporary fencing and the design and installation of new guide trails, and repair of the rock trap. The first scope of work – the guide walls – consists of the installation of natural rock walls, rock posts and/or steel pole and wire chain rails along various portions of the 1.5 mile trail leading up to the cave. The second scope – the rock trap – consists of repairing three steel doors that are used to hold and release debris from the trap, and replacement of chain link fence and rock trap curtain to divert and guide debris to the rock trap doors.
