Working closely with United Airlines, the City & County of Denver’s Department of Aviation, and key project partners, Sky Blue Builders led construction efforts on the initial phase of the SOC renovation, delivering vital infrastructure upgrades to ensure reliability, safety, and operational continuity. Scope of work for Phase 1 included:
- Installation of rooftop HVAC systems
- Integration of emergency backup power

- Core mechanical and electrical infrastructure improvements
“This first phase was all about building a resilient operational backbone,” said Mowa Haile, President at Sky Blue Builders. “We’re proud to support United’s ongoing investment in Denver with a facility designed to meet the demands of round-the-clock airline operations.”
The upgraded SOC was featured in Denver7’s July 4th travel coverage, highlighting its role in managing the summer holiday travel surge and improving behind-the-scenes efficiency at DEN.
Phase 2 construction is currently in planning, with future enhancements expected to expand the center’s capacity and technological capabilities.
