Julia Mata serves as Director of Human Resources at Sky Blue Builders, leading the company’s people and culture efforts with a focus on creating an environment where employees feel heard, valued, and recognized. She works closely with employees and leadership to strengthen the employee experience and support a culture that reflects Sky Blue’s values and commitment to its employee-owners.
Julia joined Sky Blue nearly a decade ago as a Contract Administrator supporting Operations. As the company grew, so did her role, expanding across several areas of the business before ultimately leading Human Resources. Her long history with Sky Blue provides a unique perspective on the company’s growth, its culture, and the people behind its success.
Julia is an active member of Mile High SHRM and participates in its MCAP professional development program. Her commitment to people and community has also included volunteering with the DAWN Clinic at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.
In 2026, Julia was named a ColoradoBiz Icons & Achievers honoree, recognizing her leadership and contributions to Colorado’s business community.
